Further insights on the Name and Nature of Jesus through the testimony of John the Baptizer, part 2.  Not a competition.  He Must Increase, I Must Decrease.

To whom and how did Jesus bring the message of eternal life?  Jesus demonstrates that the Gospel is for all and effective for those who will believe.  Today's episode looks at the conversation between Jesus and a Samaritan woman.  The Gospel springs up into eternal life for all who will receive it.

One woman's testimony caused a whole town to want to hear from Jesus, and many believed.  How might God use your testimony?

Jesus performed miracles because He cared for people - true, but even more true was that Jesus performed miracles and preached the message that did to establish His identity as Messiah.

Jesus responded in compassion to a leper.  How will He respond to you?  Jesus miracle propels His message forward through, yet, another changed life.

It is one thing to say someone is forgiven, but then to add the proof of enabling him to walk is another.  Jesus did just that, substantiating his claim of being God.  In this story, there are lessons for believers about carrying their friends to Christ. 

As Christians, with whom do we spend most of our time?  Jesus spent the bulk of his time surrounded by his disciples, up close and personal.  He also was known to eat and drink with sinners so that he could point them to the truth about himself.  This is a practice we need to continue. We are called to bring the Gospel to light in the conversations, the meals, we have as well. 

Jesus did righteous, merciful things on the Sabbath and it got him into all kinds of trouble with the religious establishment.  Through his acts of healing mercy, Jesus underscored the fact that he is God.
