This is a simple introduction to the Book of Luke as we begin our study of this remarkable historical account of the life and ministry of Jesus.

What part did John the Baptizer play in the life and ministry of Jesus?  What lessons can we learn for our own lives through the narrative?

What is the significance of John the Baptizer?  What do we learn from his birth, boyhood, and early ministry?  How does all of this help us grow in our understanding of Jesus?

What can we learn about the approach and message of John the Baptizer that forms our view of Jesus and how we should live our own lives?

John the Baptizer and Jesus arrived on the scene on months apart, both in birth and in ministry.  Today, we look at the transition from a focus on John to a focus on Jesus, as well as the temptation account of Jesus.

The beginning of Jesus' ministry offers insights from both the example of Jesus and the words of Jesus that can strengthen us.  Keys like living in Holy Spirit Power, like the work Jesus came to do to set us free, and like the fact that if we follow Jesus, not everyone will be thrilled with our choice.

Is some of what we see labeled as mental or emotional illness actually demonization?  Does God intend to heal everyone? Were some of the miracles Jesus' performed meant to authenticate His message?  Let's consider those questions as we work through the text.
