1 Corinthians 12 - Spiritual Gifts for the Good of the Whole Body

God has given to each of us Spiritual Gifts.  These gifts are not intended for our personal pride and pleasure.  They are given to us for the expansion of Christ's Kingdom and the building up of the Body of Christ.  What are your gifts?  Are you seeking to serve Christ's Kingdom with them?

God has given us a calling, a commission, and He has given us all we need through giftings to fulfill those.   He has also given us an operating system we are to operate within in fulfilling our calling:  LOVE.

We are called to live in and love out the Love of God.  Sometimes we settle for disputes on lesser things rather than seeking to live out the love of God for those around us, particularly those in the Body of Christ who may not see things the same way we do.  What are we to do?  Live in Love. 

1 Corinthians 14 - Instructions for Use of Spiritual Gifts in Public Worship

It is the best practice to use the gifts God has given us in an orderly fashion for the building up of those around us, not for personal prestige. We are to use our spiritual gifts in a way that is good for others and builds up the church.

1 Corinthians 14, part 2 - Proper Use of the Gifts of Tongues and Prophecy

Some of the spiritual gifts could appear to have more splash to them, draw more attention, and even seem more "spiritual", but all spiritual gifts count.  Paul gives instructions about how those more "spiritual" appearing gifts should be used in gatherings of the church. There should be a certainly orderliness to worship.

1 Corinthians 14, part 3 - Orderliness in the Use of Language Gifts in Worship Gatherings

Paul gives some pretty specific instructions about the use of language gifts (prophecy/preaching, tongues, interpretation).  Are these guidelines followed among Pentecostal churches today?  They should be.  In the final analysis, we want believers and non-believers alike to have the experience wherein they conclude, "God is in their midst."  May our worship be such that that is the conclusion of all in attendance.

A History of Hanukkah - Hanukkah, Day 1

What is the big deal with Hanukkah?  Isn't it a Jewish thing?  Yes, but it is also a Festival that Jesus, Himself, observed (John 10:22).  What is its significance and should Christians observe it?  While it may not be a command, there is benefit to understanding and even observing this special festival.

Hanukkah 2023 - Day 2

Jesus declared around the time of the Festival of Lights (Hanukkah) that he, himself, is the light of the world (John 8:12).  Today we will celebrate his miracles and his light.
